Address To Division In Philippine PWDs

A Message To The Philippine PWD Sector

Can I appeal to this entire sector po? Let's have a talk. Sana well-recieved itong message ko sa sektor. I ask you not to shoot the messenger because of these statements. No shooting of the messenger please.

It is clear that drug-norms and able-ism—of survival of the "strong"—and anarchy that it propagates, gaya ng pag tratong normal sa patayan in the open, has no concern for marginalized sectors, especially the PWD Sector. What drug-addicts' views propagate into our societal norms competes and goes against aspects of the norms promoting PWD rights, welfare and empowerment advocacy. This even manifests into tangible aspects, i.e. yung mga ginamit sa drugs ang nakatanggap pa nga ng ayuda during pandemic habang napakaraming PWDs ang na-deny sa 2 tranche ng 8k ayuda. See?

Now, when such fact is clear. Pwede po ba if your political faction opposses anti-illegal drugs suppression in society, please at least don't subscribe sa particular aspect na yon ng political faction ninyo, all else you may support kung yan talaga ang gusto mo. Pero not on this one about drug-proliferation.

May sarili akong isip, I have independent mind. I am politically a moderate, means I don't subscribe myself wholly to any single faction kundi'y basta may public concern ako and relevant sa realm o posisyon nila ay ita-tag ko yan, mapa-Leni man, o Marcos o Duterte, Isko, and, in fact, ang mga kina-classify na literally communist faction talaga open yang mga yan sa civics on PWDs (naka-attend na ko sa conferences nila way back before) kaso puro symbolic discussion lang na walang actual works kaya wala silang difference kahit antagal na, a decade ago na ng aware ako may few conferences sila sa ganon. Basta ba PWD advocacy, kahit sinong politician pa yan na nasa katayuan o stature makagawa ng difference pag ma-acknowledge nila, i-tag, and kung may access makipag-dialogo (sana nga), the better.

No political faction is perfect. I don't think it isn't reasonable when a political faction is egging its supporters to oppose drug-proliferation just because its rival is onto such. Please don't be fooled into subscribing into such unreasonable aspects of your own faction, have an independent mind, di yung basta sunod na lang sa lahat na lang ng sinasabi ng public figure mo lalo na ang unreasonable na'ng rhetoric. If they're egging you so at gusto nilang sumunod ang supporters para mapagsilbihan ang gusto nilang nasa upper hierarchies ng political faction mo. Are you included in the gains if that process kung pagsilbihan mo nga yung saan nila gustong mag-subscribe na unreasonable rhetoric and/or narratives ng mga nasa center stage ng political faction mo? Are you gains of that process para sa saang activities structured ang lahat tungkol sa kanila? Sila ang incentivized no matter what, entablado nila, silang nasa taas ng kada faction, iits their show. Now ikaw part ka ba ng gains of that process para sa unreasonable things they at the top ranks are egging those below to just follow? Di makabubuti sayo bilang disabled individual na pati drug-protectionism ay i-oppose mo rin para sa palabas nila saan sila-silang nasa ranks ang bida. In fact, in Philippine context, mali ang treatment ng drug-use as "struggling," kundi'y a victim-centered approach centered on those victime to offenses and negative behaviors of addicts, i.e. individuals and society itself.

Alam kong mahirap itong matanggap pero sana solid itong sektor pagdating dyan. Drug-protectionism is not for your own good as a Person With Disability. It only serves those in the ranks "who're running their show for and about themselves." You're not part of gains of that process but rather subjects you under its negative implications. Sana po nagkakaintindihan tayo tungkol dyan.
